Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 16, 2026
The short version
- Our apps collect no personal data. They have no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and they don't ask for internet access or any other permission.
- Your games and settings are saved only on your device.
- We don't sell, rent or share anyone's data. There are no accounts or sign-ins.
- If you email us, we use your message only to reply to you.
1. Who we are
Ethical Games ("we", "us") makes classic games, starting on Android. We are responsible for the apps and the website described below. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the website at ethicalgames.app and these apps, available on Google Play:
| App | Package name |
|---|---|
| Ethical Solitaire | io.github.coxtylerw.ethical.solitaire |
| Ethical FreeCell | io.github.coxtylerw.ethical.freecell |
| Ethical Spider | io.github.coxtylerw.ethical.spider |
| Ethical TriPeaks | io.github.coxtylerw.ethical.tripeaks |
| Ethical Pyramid | io.github.coxtylerw.ethical.pyramid |
| Ethical Golf | io.github.coxtylerw.ethical.golf |
| Ethical Mahjong | io.github.coxtylerw.ethical.mahjong |
Any new Ethical game we publish follows this policy too, and we'll add it to this list. If we release our games on other app stores or platforms, such as Apple's App Store, this policy will cover those versions too, and we'll update it before release to describe anything that differs.
3. What our apps collect
Nothing. Our apps don't collect, store on our servers, or send us any personal or usage data. In particular, they:
- don't request the Android internet permission, so they can't connect to the internet at all;
- don't request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, files or any other permission;
- contain no advertising, analytics, attribution, crash-reporting or tracking code, including third-party SDKs;
- don't use advertising IDs, device identifiers or fingerprinting;
- have no accounts, sign-ins, leaderboards, chat or social features;
- don't send notifications.
4. What stays on your device
So you never lose your place, each app saves a few things in its own private storage on your device:
- the game in progress, including the deal number and your moves, so you can pick up where you left off;
- your settings, such as the look you chose, rule options and whether you've seen the first-run tips.
We can't see this information. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android Settings, deletes it.
5. App stores and your device
Today you get our apps through Google Play, which Google runs under its own privacy policy. If we add other app stores, each store's own privacy policy covers what that store handles. As with every app on Google Play, a few things happen there that don't involve our apps' code:
- Device backup. If you've turned on Android backup for your Google Account, Android may include an app's saved game and settings in your device backup, so they come back on a new phone. Google stores that backup in your account. We can't access it. You can turn backup off in your phone's Settings.
- Store statistics. Google gives developers summary statistics, such as how many installs an app has in each country. These don't identify you.
- Crash reports. If you've chosen to share usage and diagnostics with Google, Google may send us anonymous crash and "app not responding" reports. These hold technical details such as the device model, Android version and where in the app the problem happened. We use them only to fix bugs.
- Reviews. If you post a public review on Google Play, we can read it and reply to it there.
6. Purchases
Our apps are free, or cost a single one-time payment, made either before you download or as one in-app purchase. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges.
The app store handles any purchase under its own policies. We never see your card number or other payment details. If a game uses an in-app purchase, the app confirms it with the store's app on your device, and never with any server of ours. Like every developer, we receive a limited order record from the store, such as the order number, date, item, price and country. We use it only for accounting and to answer your questions about a purchase, and we don't sell or share it.
7. If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to reply to you and help with your question. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't share your message with anyone unless the law requires it. We delete support emails once they're no longer needed, and no later than 12 months after the conversation ends. If you ask, we'll delete them sooner.
8. This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, embedded videos, or third-party fonts or scripts.
Like almost every web server, ours keeps a basic access log of each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page you asked for, the page that linked to it, and your browser's description of itself. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, and we delete them within 30 days.
9. Sharing and selling
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We'd disclose the little we hold, such as a support email, only if the law required us to.
10. Children
Our games suit players of all ages. Because the apps collect no personal information from anyone, they collect none from children either. If a child under 13 emails us, we'll use the message only to reply, and then delete it. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete it at any time.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. In practice, the only personal information we might hold is an email you sent us. Write to [email protected] and we'll answer within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for making a request.
Where EU or UK law applies, we handle support emails on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
We don't sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms, and we don't process sensitive personal information.
12. Security and retention
The safest data is data that's never collected, which is why our apps collect none. This website is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. We keep support emails and server logs no longer than the periods given above.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change affects what the apps collect, we'll update this policy before that app version is released, and say so in the app's release notes.
